Tell the Police how they should tackle e-Crime

The e-Crime Wales partnership is working with Police forces across Wales and the UK to tackle e-Crime and protect businesses and citizens in Wales. This work includes working to improve the knowledge and understanding of e-Crime within the Police.

The National Policing Improvement Agency has been tasked on behalf of the Association of Chief Police Officers to investigate the current challenges facing individuals within Police forces with cybercrime and technology enabled crime and thus, the potential learning that may be required.

To determine these requirements they are conducting a needs analysis with force representatives; also with officers and staff who may experience (or have experienced) criminal activity and report incidents to the Police. In addition they are seeking to establish what crime prevention advice and guidance has been received from Police and what would be the areas to develop in order to help support the needs of businesses.

In order to protect identities the questionnaires are structured so that all responses are anonymous with no identifying marks used.

To access the questionnaire please click on the link below. If the link does not work automatically on your computer, please cut and paste into the address block in your internet browser. The questionnaire should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.

Once the questionnaire has been completed click the 'DONE' button and it will be collated in a central location ready for analysing.

Thank you for taking the time to help us and the Police to improve our response to e-Crime.

Many thanks,

The e-Crime Wales team

Careers in the IT Security industry - Cassidian and Newport University

Prior to the 2011 e-Crime Wales Summit, Cassidian delivered a presentation to forensic computing students at the University of Wales, Newport.

To get a better idea of the new career opportunities in e-Crime prevention, we spoke with Cassidian, the University of Wales, Newport and a recent graduate of one of their courses.

Thanks again to Cassidian for being one of our 2011 Summit Sponsors.

Here's the last in our short series of videos where we asked Welsh SMEs about their approach to using Social Media in their business, managing their profile and lessons they've learned along the way.

In this segment we hear from Neil Cocker - Managing Director of Dizzyjam and co-organiser of Ignite Cardiff and TEDxCardiff.

You can watch the other videos in this short series here on this Blog or over on our Vimeo and YouTube channels.

Many thanks to all the companies who took the time to share their views with us.

Firstly, without financial support from our Sponsors these annual events wouldn't be realised to the standard we think this increasingly important topic deserves. We'd like to extend a big thank you (again) to Logicalis, Cassidian and Spectrum Internet. All three are actively working to transform safe and efficient online services in Wales across multiple sectors.

The exhibition space has steadily grown in size and scope over the last several years and continues to offer delegates and exhibitors alike a valuable networking and, we hope, business opportunity focussed on e-Security. This is unique in Wales and the South West. We thank all this year's exhibiting companies for their support and enthusiasm and in making this a worthwhile part of the e-Crime Wales Summit experience.

Securing expert Speakers on e-Crime, Trust and Security is challenging. Attempting it on an annual basis with different Global organisations is truly challenging! But we're delighted, and just a little proud, that the e-Crime Wales brand continues to open doors for us and facilitate access to great people. We thank them all.

Welsh SMEs discuss how they use Social Media in business

To support our recent short series of 'My Approach to Trust and Security Online' videos, we spoke with a number of additional companies in Wales who actively use various Social Media platforms to communicate with customers and promote their business.

This longer video digs a little deeper into lessons they've learned along the way - and offers some useful advice for others considering Social Media as a communications tool for employees and executives.
